Learning Fund

What is the Green Valley Learning Fund?

The Green Valley Learning Fund is a non-profit organization that works to raise funds that bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of the full educational experience, high quality services and programs beyond what the school district can provide. These funds are raised through the generous donations from Green Valley Families in addition to the various fundraising efforts throughout the year
including our Fall Fun Run, the Annual Auction and Employer Matching programs.

Fundraising Background:

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and its impact on the availability of funds at a state, district and school level, as of June 2020, all Learning Funds in the San Ramon Valley School District are now required to forward fundraise for the upcoming 22/23 year. The amount that we fundraise during this school year will go directly towards our projected budget for the following year. This is a new process but ultimately believe it benefits the school as we start each year we will hopefully have achieved the fundraising goals from the previous year.

Current Donation Ask:

Given the SRVUSD policy requiring pre-payment for staff positions supported by Learning Funds, our fall donation ask for 2021/2022, will go towards the 2022/23 budget plan. The projected fundraising budget for the 2022-2023 school year is $209,500, with the suggested donation of $550 per student. In years past, we have been able to supplement our fundraising efforts to meet our budget goals for the year,  with alternative fundraising programs (i.e. GV Apex Fun Run, Dining/Shopping Events, A’s game, Auction). Given the lingering uncertainties from the pandemic we don’t know what this year will look like in terms of the ability to fundraise, making the registration donation participation vitally important. We understand that many families are not in a position to donate or donate in-full. We will provide an option to spread out donations over the course of 4 months (simply check the "donate in 4 easy monthly installments" box), or simply pay as much as you can. And, if you’d like to give more and pay it forward, there is an option for that as well! Your generous donations are tax deductible!

Donations can be made during Green Valley Online Registration.

To donate by check, complete Online Registration (gves.futurefund.com), and bring your “pay by check” receipt to the Green Valley office and a check made out to the Green Valley Learning Fund.

Green Valley Learning Fund Employer Matching

What is Employer Matching?

Many companies have philanthropic programs that will financially match their employees’ donations to nonprofit organizations.

What is the most common matching gift

A 1:1 matching gift is most common but a higher ratio is possible, depending on the company policy.

  • Many companies have deadlines to submit matching requests (e.g. end of calendar year or within a set period of the donation date).

  • IF both parents' employers match, you can submit the same donation to each company for a match, and potentially triple your donation!

How do I know if my employer matches?              match
